There are special days in life when one chooses not the dazzling city lights, but quietly packs a bag for Xuân Thọ hill, finding a cozy corner to blow out birthday candles alongside the dearest ones.

That afternoon, as the last golden rays of sunset began settling upon the hillside, the kitchen and common lounge of Lưng Chừng House were even livelier than usual. Knowing that a guest had chosen our little home to celebrate her birthday, our family had been busy preparing since early morning. Fragrant fresh flowers were lovingly arranged, and colorful balloons were tied onto the rustic timber wall beside a cozy dining table.

Without grand stages or elaborate scripts, the surprise and beaming smile when stepping into the room to find a corner decorated by hand was all it took to fill everyone with joy. As the mountain twilight descended into the valley, warm candles were lit. Soft clapping and acoustic birthday melodies echoed beside the fragrant BBQ smoke, mingling with cheerful laughter that melted all distance away.

They say youth is at its sweetest when gathering peaceful and warm memories.
